ADHD COACHING
ADHD COACHING
This is the short version (TL:DR)
I offer ADHD coaching for adults and, where appropriate, young people over 16, in person in Kingsbridge, Devon, and online across the UK.
You do not need a formal ADHD diagnosis to work with me. You may be diagnosed, self-identifying, waiting for assessment, or beginning to wonder whether ADHD or AuDHD might explain why so many everyday things feel harder than they seem to for other people.
As an AuDHD counsellor and coach, I understand how frustrating it can be to have insight, ideas and good intentions, but still struggle to turn them into action.
When making a list does not work
If lists solved ADHD, you would probably have solved everything by now.
You may have notebooks, apps, reminders, plans, calendars, sticky notes, unfinished systems, and lists that somehow create more pressure rather than less. You may know what needs doing, but still feel unable to start, prioritise, plan or keep going.
ADHD coaching is not about telling you to make another list. It is about understanding why the list has not worked, what gets in the way, and what kind of support might actually fit the way your brain works.

When you understand yourself better, but life still feels hard to manage
Many people come to ADHD coaching after a period of self-discovery. You might understand ADHD more clearly now. You may recognise executive dysfunction, procrastination, overcommitting, inconsistent routines, emotional overwhelm or burnout from trying to keep up.
But insight does not automatically make life easier.
You may still find yourself surrounded by clutter, avoiding life admin, starting things and not finishing them, saying yes too quickly, or feeling stuck between too many competing demands.
Coaching can help bridge the gap between understanding yourself and knowing what to do next.

What ADHD coaching is, and what it is not
ADHD coaching is not someone telling you to be more organised, make another list, force a rigid routine, or become more consistent by sheer effort.
It is not about ignoring your nervous system, pushing through at any cost, or turning your wellbeing into another project to manage. It is not therapy, although it can feel emotionally supportive. It is not about fixing you.
ADHD coaching is practical support to help you notice patterns, reduce shame, break things down, make decisions, build systems, and work with your attention, energy, motivation and capacity.
Structure without shame
Many ADHD and AuDHD people need structure, but not pressure. Support, but not control. Clarity, but not criticism.
In coaching, we can look at what is feeling messy, stuck or overwhelming, and begin to break it down into smaller, more manageable pieces. This might include routines, planning, boundaries, work, self-employment, home life, life admin, decision-making or unfinished projects.
The aim is not to create a perfect system. The aim is to find something realistic enough that you can actually use it.

Working with your energy, attention and motivation
ADHD can make energy and motivation feel unpredictable. Some days you may be full of ideas and able to do a lot. Other days, even simple tasks can feel impossible to begin.
Coaching can help you understand your own patterns more clearly. We can explore what helps you start, what makes tasks feel too big, where you lose momentum, and how to plan in a way that allows for real life rather than an ideal version of yourself.
This can be especially helpful if you often procrastinate, overcommit, avoid planning, struggle with routines, or feel burnt out from trying to keep up.
Coaching, counselling, or both?
Counselling and coaching can both be helpful, but they offer different kinds of support.
Counselling may be more helpful if you want to explore emotions, identity, past experiences, shame, relationships, burnout or the impact of being misunderstood. Coaching may be more helpful if you want practical support with routines, planning, boundaries, work, self-employment, decision-making or everyday life.
Some people benefit from counselling first. Some prefer coaching. Some find that both are useful at different points.
You may also find my pages on ADHD Counselling, Autism Counselling and AuDHD Counselling helpful if you are unsure which kind of support feels right.

Moving from stuck and overwhelmed to clearer and more supported
ADHD coaching is not about becoming a perfectly organised person. It is about creating more clarity, reducing shame around inconsistency, and finding ways of doing things that feel more possible.
That might mean building systems that fit your brain, creating realistic routines, breaking tasks into manageable steps, improving boundaries, managing overwhelm, developing self-trust, or turning ideas into action.
My ADHD coaching is especially suited to ADHD and AuDHD adults who have tried generic advice and been left feeling worse. We work with your brain, your life, your energy and your needs, rather than trying to squeeze you into an approach that was never designed for you.
You may also find my general Coaching page helpful if you are interested in broader support around confidence, self-employment, imposter syndrome or personal development.
Send me a message
You do not have to arrive with a clear plan, a perfect goal, or a neatly organised explanation. You are welcome to get in touch even if all you know is that things feel messy, overwhelming or harder than they need to be.
A simple message is enough.
