AUDHD COACHING

This is the short version (TL:DR)

I offer AuDHD coaching for adults and young people over 16, in person in Kingsbridge, Devon, and online across the UK.

You do not need a formal diagnosis to work with me. You may be diagnosed, self-identifying, waiting for assessment, or beginning to wonder whether both autism and ADHD might explain why life often feels contradictory, exhausting or difficult to manage.

As an AuDHD counsellor and coach, I understand how confusing it can be when one part of you needs structure, another part needs freedom, and both parts are real.

MORE ABOUT GEORGINA

When routine helps, but rigidity hurts

AuDHD can feel confusing because your needs may seem to pull in different directions.

You may need routine, but struggle to maintain it. You may want structure, but feel trapped when things become too rigid. You may crave novelty, but find change overwhelming. You may want connection, but also need quiet and recovery. You may have lots of ideas, but struggle to turn them into something manageable.

This does not mean you are difficult or inconsistent on purpose. It may mean that the support you have been offered has only understood one part of you.

AuDHD coaching can help you find what works for all of you, not just one part.

When life feels both too much and not enough

Many AuDHD people describe feeling caught between overload and restlessness.

Life can feel too loud, too demanding, too unpredictable or too full of expectations. At the same time, you may need stimulation, interest, novelty or urgency to feel engaged enough to begin. You might procrastinate, lose track of time, become stuck in task paralysis, or swing between hyperfocus and burnout.

You may keep pushing yourself until you crash, then feel frustrated that you cannot keep going in the way you hoped.

Coaching gives you space to untangle what is happening, without turning these patterns into personal failings.

What AuDHD coaching is, and what it is not

AuDHD coaching is not autism coaching with ADHD added on. It is not ADHD coaching with autism added on. It is not generic productivity advice, and it is not someone telling you to make another list.

It is not about forcing rigid routines, pushing you to be more flexible, encouraging you to override your needs, or expecting you to become more consistent by trying harder. It is not therapy, although it can feel emotionally supportive.

AuDHD coaching is practical support to help you understand your patterns, reduce shame around inconsistency, build flexible routines, and create systems that can bend without completely falling apart.

When systems bore you, overwhelm you, or fall apart

You may have tried planners, apps, routines, reminders, schedules, carefully organised systems or a good old fashioned list. Some may work for a short time, then disappear. Some may feel too boring to keep using. Others may become so detailed that they create more pressure than relief.

This can be especially frustrating when you know you need support, but the support itself becomes another thing to manage.

In coaching, we can explore what has and has not worked before. We can look at what helps you start, what makes things feel too big, where you lose momentum, and what kind of structure feels supportive rather than suffocating.

The aim is not to create a perfect system. It is to find something realistic enough to use in your actual life.

Energy, overwhelm and the crash after pushing through

AuDHD energy can be inconsistent. You may have times when you can do a huge amount, especially if something is interesting, urgent or absorbing. At other times, even small tasks can feel impossible to begin or complete.

You may also find that hyperfocus, overcommitting, emotional intensity, rejection sensitivity, clutter, life admin, decision fatigue and unfinished projects all build up until everything feels too much.

Coaching can help you recognise your patterns earlier. We can look at what drains you, what helps you recover, what supports your focus, and what signs suggest you are moving towards burnout.

Boundaries, transitions and everyday life

AuDHD coaching can support the practical parts of life that often become complicated: routines, planning, communication, transitions, work, relationships, home life and boundaries.

You might need help preparing for change, thinking through conversations, deciding what to say, or working out what would make a situation easier to manage. If work feels unclear or draining, we can also explore boundaries, communication and reasonable adjustments in a light-touch, practical way.

The work is not about making you fit other people’s expectations more neatly. It is about helping everyday life feel less draining, less chaotic and more manageable.

Coaching, counselling, or both?

Counselling and coaching can both be helpful, but they offer different kinds of support.

Counselling may be more helpful when you want space to explore emotions, identity, past experiences, shame, relationships, burnout or the impact of being misunderstood. Coaching is usually more focused on practical support: understanding your patterns, building flexible routines, setting boundaries, communicating needs, managing transitions and making everyday life feel less draining.

Some people benefit from counselling first. Some prefer coaching. Some find that both are useful at different points.

Send me a message

You do not have to arrive with a clear plan, the right words, or a neatly organised explanation. You are welcome to get in touch even if all you know is that life feels messy, contradictory or harder than it needs to be.

You do not have to know whether autism, ADHD or AuDHD explains everything before you get in touch. You are welcome to send a message even if you are not sure what kind of support you need yet.

A simple message is enough.
